At the top of my list is finishing my Bachelor/Master of Science in Software Engineering at Western Governors University before the end of 2026. Every course I complete gets me even closer to having the formal credential that refelcts the practical knowledge I have been building on the job for years. Alongside the degree, I am sharpening my skills in Python, C#, and front-end web development with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
My Experience So Far
I am Jaime Hernandez, I have been working in technology since 2020. I began my career in hands on hardware and systems work and have continued to build experience in infrastructure and technical environments. I am driven by continuous improvement and feedback-based development, which has led me to explore automation, scripting, and software solutions. Whether working with BIOS configurations, production systems, or Python scripts, I focus on improving efficiency and reliability. This progression deeply motivated me to pursue a formal software engineering degree at WGU.
What I Am Working Towards Right Now
Where I Can See Myself in Five Years
Five years from now I want to be working as a full-stack software engineer or Automation engineer at a company that values people who understand both the code and the metal it runs on. I am especially drawn to work involving CI/CD pipelines, internal developer tooling, and cloud automation, because those are the areas where my infrastructure background gives me an edge that a pure computer science graduate maybe might not have.
